Zwickau Third Division extends with Captain Brinkies

Captain Johannes Brinkies remains with the FSV Zwickau third division football team. The goalkeeper has extended his two-year contract until June 30, 2022, the club announced on Monday. “The fact that ‘Pommes’ have chosen us is a clear sign of the future development of the team, for which he will be of enormous importance,” said sporting director Toni Wachsmuth. Brinkies is one of the best goalies in the league and has great leadership.

The 27-year-old transferred for free from Hansa Rostock to Zwickau in July 2016. Since then he has played 146 games in the 3rd Division for West Saxony. After the extension with Brinkies, the future of forward Ronny König is unclear in Zwickau. Officially, the recent service provider is currently club-less.
