The next IAA motor show could move to Berlin, Hamburg or Munich – the former host Frankfurt is out of the race. The board of directors of the Automobile Industry Association (VDA) decided on Wednesday to start concrete negotiations with these three candidates.

Where should the IAA go?

The decision for one of the cities is expected to be made in the coming weeks. Besides Frankfurt, Cologne, Stuttgart and Hanover, which had also applied, are out of the race.

The association wishes to turn the show into a motor show a driving force behind new mobility concepts. For decades, the International Motor Show (IAA) started every two years in Frankfurt. The last edition of the past year is considered a failure among the public and the organizers.

The seven candidates presented their concepts in Berlin last week. The VDA spoke of a close race.
