The United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) said on Wednesday that, in coordination with the Nicaraguan Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ), it had analyzed the action protocols to assist children and adolescents who were victims of sexual abuse.

In Nicaragua, school-age girls and adolescents are at increased risk of sexual violence, warned Unicef, who also warned that the main perpetrators are family members, including parents, uncles and grandparents, and that crimes are committed mainly at home .
