Madrid (AP) – Just four days before the Champions League quarter-finals against RB Leipzig, Atlético Madrid reported two positive corona tests.
As the Spanish Premier League football team announced on Sunday evening, the tests have been positive for two people who have not been named. It is therefore not known whether these are actors. The club announced that the entire 93-member delegation that will travel to the Lisbon mini-tournament will be tested again on Monday.
According to the Spanish media, there is even a risk of postponement of the match in the event of positive tests between the players. Atlético will play the first quarter-final match against Leipzig on Thursday.
Tests for the corona virus were reportedly carried out on Saturday at the Majadahonda training center near Madrid on all members of the delegation. People who tested positive were quarantined at home after the test results were announced. UEFA and all authorities and associations in Spain and Portugal have already been informed.
The delegation’s trip to Portugal, initially scheduled for Monday, will be postponed due to new tests required by UEFA’s protocol of action. The new travel plan has not yet been defined.
