The Tribeca Film Festival announced on Friday the dates of its next edition, from 9 to 20 June 2021, in which it celebrates twenty years since the actor Robert de Niro created it with the aim of reconstructing through the seventh art a New York devastated by the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
In a note, the organization stressed that the dates, later than usual, reflect an effort to ensure that the festival takes place in a “safe environment” taking into account the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, which gave rise to “changes in the calendar” and extend the deadline for submitting films in competition until January.
