The real meaning of Darius Ruckers Beers And Sunshine

If there’s one song in the summer of 2020 that really strives to distract people from the chaotic events going on in that word, it’s Darius Rucker’s “Beers and Sunshine”. In the song, the singer sings, “Turn on the good times, turn off the telly / Yeah the only BS I need is beer and sunshine.”

In an official statement, Rucker explained (via CMT): “It was certainly a difficult year with a lot of gravity around us.” He continued, “As the song says, I don’t know how to fix these big, real problems, but as we work through this time, I think it’s important that we find the silver lining where we can really enjoy the little ones moments and the simple joys of the time we spend with friends and family. ”

Hopefully, the song will give listeners a three-minute pause to immerse themselves in the harmonious sun with a (real or imaginary) beer in hand.
