Taiwan Foreign Minister Joseph Wu denounced today that “China wants to make Taiwan the next Hong Kong” by meeting with US Secretary of Health and Social Services Alex Azar, the country’s highest official has been on an official visit to Taiwan since 1979.

“China continues to pressure Taiwan to accept its political conditions, conditions that would make Taiwan the next Hong Kong. However, we are lucky to have good friends like the United States,” Wu told Azar, whose visit has sparked strong protests from Beijing.
