The challenge of ensuring the survival of Africa’s most iconic carnivore, the lion, is part of the objective of KAZA, an ambitious initiative by five countries to coordinate conservation in an area of 520,000 square kilometers where the Loro Parque Fundación finances the necklaces of radio and the fight against poachers.
KAZA is the name of the Kavango Zambeze cross-border conservation area covering five countries in Southern Africa, Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe, known for its collection of large mammals (at least 195 species have been recorded), including charismatic elephants Africans, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, black and white rhinos.
