ROME (dpa-AFX) – Italy’s largest energy supplier, Enel, has achieved and earned more over the past year, mainly thanks to good business in Brazil. Adjusted for special effects, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (normalized EBITDA) increased 10.5% to 17.9 million euros, slightly exceeding the value of the increased forecast in November.
In turnover, the increase was six percent to 80.3 billion euros, according to EuroStoxx 50 companies listed on Thursday after market close. Enel therefore slightly exceeded experts’ expectations for both stocks. The good development of the year has shown that the group is on the right track to reach the medium-term goals, said boss Francesco Starace.
