In total, around 300 contact persons were retested. At the second production site of the Simbach cannery, 40 contact people are to be tested on Wednesday.
At the Mamming cannery in Lower Bavaria, as of August 4, 166 out of 600 employees had tested positive for the corona virus. The entire company has been temporarily closed, all employees have been quarantined – along with 130 employees at two other company sites.
After more positive cases have since been released from quarantine after being reinstated, there are currently 190 infected people in quarantine in Mamming Municipality, the district office announced on Tuesday.
The cannery is expected to resume production on Wednesday. The Regensburg Administrative Court upheld a corresponding request from the management. District administrator Werner Bumeder (CSU) was concerned about the court’s decision: “Given the still high and even growing number of infections, I would not take the responsibility of resuming operations without a certificate from the experts,” said he declared.
At the end of July, a corona epidemic broke out on a market garden in Mamming.
