Lebanese Prime Minister proposes early elections to get out of the crisis | World | America Edition

Lebanon’s Prime Minister Hasan Diab said today that the way out of this crisis is through early elections and said he is willing to lead a cabinet for two months to reach the elections.

“I ask the parties to agree to the next step (…). I will propose on Monday (at the cabinet meeting) to call early elections,” said Diab, who took office last December, in a speech to the nation. following the resignation of Saad Hariri amid protests that began in October against the leaders and the sectarian system in Lebanon.
