Fürth (dpa / lby) – Despite an early lead, SpVgg Greuther Fürth did not go beyond a draw against SV Wehen Wiesbaden in their first test football match for the new season. Coach Stefan Leitl’s side split 2: 2 (1: 1) from the relegated Hessen Second Division on Saturday. Branimir Hrgota gave the Franconian second division team an early lead (8th minute / penalty), Gianluca Korte (43rd) equalized in the first half.
Then Leitl changed his team. The renewed lead of Marco Meyerhöfer (53rd) then equaled Marvin Ajani (85th) shortly before the end. “The guys put their foot on the accelerator and implemented a lot of what we gave them on the way,” praised Leitl. Next Friday Fürth will test against SpVgg Unterhaching.
