Former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee tests positive for COVID-19


New Delhi, August 10 (EFE) .- Former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee (2012-2017) reported on Monday that he tested positive for COVID-19, while the country has exceeded 2.2 million confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
“Today, during a visit to the hospital for a different procedure, I tested positive for COVID-19. I ask the people who contacted me last week to isolate themselves and take the test, ”Mukherjee posted on Twitter.
The 84-year-old former president did not specify whether to end treatment at a hospital.
After the announcement, social media turned upside down and wished him a speedy recovery. “Please be careful. We pray for your speedy recovery and good health,” the head of the Government of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, wished through the same social network.
