Former Disney Channel star Morgan York never introduced herself growing up. Unlike the active environmentalist Sarah, who she played on Hannah Montana“I didn’t feel like I was doing anything useful,” she admitted on her blog in 2012. Instead, York longed for an outlet where she could have more creative control and influence people in ways that mattered to her. As if show business was not strong enough, she decided to enter the world of the literary world and become a writer.
As an added benefit, having control over the story she tells helps York to be typed for who she is in real life. As a writer, she can experience life like any character she wants. “And if I hadn’t acted, I would now take out a lot of credit to pay for my studies,” she added. But it wasn’t all about being debt free. “I will never regret playing, but I will never regret leaving. I’ve had some of the best experiences of my life with my friends on set, ”admitted York.
So how did this author thing come about? In July 2018, York blogged that she “had a full-time publishing business” and “completed the first draft of a contemporary YA fantasy novel.” She also started a since closed Patreon campaign in which she stated she had work for “Queue, B&N Teen Blog, and Yes proud. ”
