Foreigners insulted and beaten in Dresden

On Friday evening, a 57-year-old man berated a Lebanese man in downtown Dresden, then hit him with a bottle of beer. The drunken German shouted xenophobic slogans such as “Foreigners out” during the confrontation he was arrested, as police announced on Sunday. After filing a criminal complaint for assault, he is again at large. The 31-year-old victim, slightly injured in the elbows and head, reportedly refused medical treatment. The case is under state security investigation. “There are also witnesses.”
