Munich – Bayern coach Hansi Flick counts on Ivan Perisic on the left wing in the Champions League second leg return leg against Chelsea. The Croatian replaces ailing winger Kingsley Coman, as German record champion Munich announced an hour before kick-off on Saturday night. Brazilian Philippe Coutinho initially only sits on the Bayern bench. “We want to start like this today and have Philippe up our sleeves,” Flick told Sky and Perisic certified television “physically more dynamic”.
Among the guests, German international Antonio Rüdiger is not part of the starting lineup. His DFB colleague Joshua Kimmich will replace injured world champion Benjamin Pavard on Bayern’s right-wing defense, as he did during the test match against Olympique de Marseille. Bayern must do without the talent of storm Joshua Zirkzee. The 19-year-old Dutchman is missing due to a compression of his right tarsus.
Bayern won the first leg in London 3-0. Nonetheless, Flick warned, “The team realizes they need to perform well. We need to be wide awake and focus on the game.”
