London – Former Bayern professional Pierre Emile Höjbjerg is leaving Southampton FC for Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League. The 25-year-old midfielder has been given a contract until June 30, 2025, as the London club announced. In return, Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker-Peters will move to Southampton for good. The 23-year-old was loaned to former Bundesliga coach Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side last season.
Höjbjerg was considered a great talent by the German record champions. He arrived in Munich from Copenhagen in 2012 and made his Bundesliga debut at the age of 17. But he didn’t make the breakthrough. The Denmark international was then loaned out to FC Augsburg and Schalke 04. In 2016 he traveled to Southampton and became captain there.
