“Creditors cast a vote of confidence,” according to an Odebrecht official | Economy America Edition

The chief executive of the Odebrecht group’s construction company, Marco Siqueira, assured in an interview with Efe that the creditors gave their “vote of confidence” after closing an extrajudicial agreement to restructure the debt, a measure that, according to him, will allow the company’s focus on “conquest” of projects.

After a year and a half of negotiations, the company, which since 2014 was involved in an international corruption scandal, reached an extrajudicial agreement with 60% of creditors last Friday to reduce the total debt by more than half $ 3.3 billion under the financial restructuring plan.
