South African Brad Binder gave the Austrian manufacturer KTM his first win on dry roads by authoritatively winning the Czech MotoGP Grand Prix at the Brno circuit and as a rookie in his third race in the category.
Binder, the first South African in the history of motorcycling to win in the premier class, won with authority while the world leader, Frenchman Fábio Quartararo (Yamaha YZR M 1), succumbed to technical problems suffered during the race with tire performance and had to settle for a seventh position more than discreet and Maverick Viñales (Yamaha YZR M 1), fourteenth, away from the top positions.
