Bayern Munich wins 4-1 against Chelsea and confirms passage to Lisbon

Bayern Munich handily overcame the Champions League Round of 16 second leg against Chelsea, who defeated 4-1, and reserved a spot for the ‘Final 8’ in Lisbon.

Robert Lewandowski twice (10 penalties, 84), Ivan Perisic (24) and Corentin Tolisso (76) scored goals for Bayern, while young Tammy Abraham (44) scored Chelsea’s only goal in the tie.

Bayern beat the Blues 3-0 at Stamford Bridge in the first leg in February.

Facing a Chelsea with significant losses due to injury and suspension, Bavarian coach Hansi Flick has lined up his best players to avoid unpleasant surprises.

With Lewandowski’s penalty goal, which already totals 13 in the competition, the tie ended in ten minutes and the Munich players dedicated themselves to having fun.

Bayern’s eyes are already on Lisbon. The Germans will jump onto the grass at Estádio Da Luz, in the Portuguese capital, on August 14, to face Barcelona in the quarter-finals, in a draw for a game.

The Barça team got the ticket to the ‘Final 8’ of Lisbon also this Saturday, after tipping the Italian Naples 3-1 at the Camp Nou.
