Bavaria: seven calves killed in stable fire – Bavaria

Gleiritsch (dpa / lby) – Seven calves were killed in a fire in a barn in Gleiritsch (district of Schwandorf). As police announced on Monday, residents noticed the blaze on Sunday evening and notified police and firefighters. When rescuers arrived, the barn was already on fire. Several adjoining wooden stalls burned down and seven calves were killed there. Another barn with cattle and pigs could be protected from the flames, it was said. Firefighters prevented the flames from spreading through a residential building and no one was injured. The cause of the fire is not clear.
