Bavaria: firefighter seriously injured in fire at horse farm – Bavaria

Jettingen-Scheppach (dpa / lby) – A firefighter was seriously injured in a fire at a horse farm in the district of Günzburg. As police said, the Jettingen-Scheppach fire also caused damage of around one million euros on Monday. The 58-year-old firefighter suffered severe burns when the fire extinguished in a blast. He was taken to hospital in a rescue helicopter.

Police said it was initially unclear why the barn and adjacent stables caught fire. “The investigations are going in all directions.” Some horses were also injured by the fire, but only slightly. Police were on duty with 255 to extinguish the fire.
