Bavaria: Finnbogason three-pack: Augsburg Peat Festival in the first test – Bavaria

Heimstetten (dpa / lby) – Led by three-time goalscorer Alfred Finnbogason, FC Augsburg effortlessly won their first test match for the upcoming football season. On the 113th anniversary of the club’s founding, the Fuggerstadt team with goalkeeper Rafal Gikiewicz beat Bavarian fourth division club SV Heimstetten 9-0 (4-0) on Saturday. Florian Niederlechner (11th minute, 42nd), Ruben Vargas (19th) and newcomer Daniel Caligiuri (24th / foul penalty) succeeded twice in the goal festival before half-time.

A completely changed Augsburg side at half-time increased thanks to striker Finnbogason (48th, 57th, 66th) and returnees Michael Gregoritsch (50th, 76th), on loan to FC Schalke. On the other hand, Gikiewicz (32), who came from his rival 1. FC Union Berlin this summer, is brand new to FCA. The founding day of the FCA was celebrated 113th time on August 8.
