Schweinfurt (dpa / lby) – Due to storm damage, the Schweinfurt district firefighters were repeatedly deployed on Tuesday evening. The integrated control center in Schweinfurt announced that 135 emergency calls had been received within an hour and a half. Neighborhood firefighters were deployed 90 times due to the storm. In the village of Röthlein (district of Schweinfurt) alone, the fire brigade had 58 missions. In most cases, these were full cellars.
Thunderstorms with heavy rains also passed over the Upper Palatinate in the late afternoon and evening. However, the damage was limited, as police said. At the Upper Palatinate operations center, 16 storm-related missions were recorded in two hours. Most of the time, these were flooded streets, flooded underpasses and full basements.
